Blaise & Francis Hotel

The breakfast staff were friendly and much more service minded than reception, where people were helpful and attentive but not especially warm. Breakfast was an okay, standard Italian hotel buffet. The central location is good, but the hotel badly needs repairs. Our room was noisy, the air conditioning didn’t work at all, and the place was falling apart. We could hear people talking loudly through the ventilation shafts. The elevator also made a worrying sound, like loose chains.

Pretty average across the board. The location is decent and easy to reach by bus, and the room looked fine with a nice bathroom. But the air conditioning and fridge were basically nonexistent. At best, maybe 10% performance.

Breakfast was the highlight, really delicious and better than we expected. The hotel is also easy to reach by public transit, which made getting around simple. We did have a broken bathroom at first, but the staff were very accommodating and moved us to another room quickly and without hassle. A decent hotel with plenty to offer. We had a good experience and would consider coming back.

For a work trip, this stay was frustrating and uncomfortable. Some staff were polite, but the hotel lacked flexibility, communication, and basic customer care. Our room’s air conditioning didn’t work, so it stayed unpleasantly warm at night. One evening our team wanted to have dinner at the hotel while continuing to work, but a private event meant we couldn’t use the lobby. We found an empty meeting room and asked to use it briefly at 9:30 p.m., but were quoted $150 USD, which felt unreasonable for such a short time. There was no room service, so we had to go out late to look for food when most nearby places were already closed. Nobody had warned us about any of this. An email or call earlier in the day would have helped us plan, but the front desk offered no real support when we asked. Even drinking water cost extra. At checkout, the young woman at the desk was rude and dismissive when I asked for an itemized breakdown of the charges. That left a bad final impression.
