Hotel Marte

The location is nice and the room was okay. Breakfast was just a snack, coffee and one croissant. The staff weren’t honest about what was included, and although the listing said otherwise, air conditioning costs extra. There might be hidden cameras inside the TV, but I’m not sure. Check-in is strict, and we weren’t even allowed to wait in the lobby. I’d only stay one night if there were absolutely no other options.

The location is the one good thing, about a 15-minute walk from the Navigli area. The hotel itself is old and ugly. Our room and bed were both small, and the bed was nowhere near the double size I paid for. It felt like a one-and-a-half size and was really uncomfortable for two people. That’s why, in the photos, the double beds are cropped so closely that you can’t see their actual size. The bathroom furniture was old and rusty, though I have to say it was clean.

The receptionists were what stood out most. They were so friendly and ready to help that we left feeling as if we’d started a friendship, and we’d return on our next trip without hesitation. The hotel has a pleasant atmosphere and is a nice place to relax. It’s conveniently located by the Navigli Pavese Canal, near the center of Milan, and the good accommodation is matched by an excellent team.

The neighborhood looked run down, and the Metro stop felt very far away, especially with luggage. There’s no lift, so we had to climb six flights of stairs to reach our rooms. The shower was so tiny I couldn’t even close the door while inside. On the morning we left, the man at reception was extremely rude.
