iH Hotels Milano Ambasciatori

My wife and I had a great stay, so I’m honestly surprised by the hotel’s overall rating. It’s in a safe area and an easy walk from the main sights. The breakfast buffet is included, which helped save money in an otherwise expensive city. We didn’t get to try the rooftop bar because it was raining. For things to see nearby, I’d recommend touring the Duomo, seeing Da Vinci’s Last Supper, and visiting the Biblioteca Ambrosiana. We’d recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Milan.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with a good range of choices and fresh food each morning. The location is excellent too. I was here on a business trip and found it a good option for a short stay. Housekeeping could use more attention, though. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly, and the bathtub needed more care. The bathroom also seems ready for some renovation. I hope management puts more focus on maintenance and cleaning.

Breakfast was simple continental fare, but fresh and good. A recommended spot for a short stay. The hotel is old-fashioned, even down to the old keys, but it was quiet and clean enough for a good night's sleep. I've traveled around Europe for 35 years and seen a lot. Sure, places can always be better, but some of the reviews about bad conditions make me think those guests might be extra picky. I'd give it four stars.

The rooftop was the part of the hotel I’ll remember. On both visits, while traveling through Milan on my way to and from Padova, it stood apart from everything else. I was traveling alone and went up to the bar each evening after settling into my room. From the terrace at iH Milano Ambasciatori, I could watch Milan’s rooftops and cathedral spires glow in the golden light. It felt like a little sanctuary above the city, and made being alone feel peaceful. Antuanet, Luis, Mario, and Amir made the place feel welcoming, almost like home. They remembered what I liked, offered thoughtful suggestions, and served each cocktail with care. Their warmth felt real, and sharing a drink with them made me feel noticed. I’ll always remember the city sparkling below, the breeze, the laughter, and the kindness behind the bar. Thank you to the rooftop team for making Milan feel like mine. That terrace was the only redeeming feature for me. The rest of the hotel left me deeply disappointed, and each of my two stays only reinforced that feeling. Apart from the rooftop, nothing lived up to my expectations.
