Innside by Meliá Milano Torre Galfa Hotel

The room was roomy and well laid out, with a big walk-in shower and a separate toilet. The staff were friendly the whole time, and the neighborhood was quiet with enough places to eat nearby. INNSiDE by Meliá Milano Torre GalFa is also handy for Milano Centrale, about a 10-minute walk away. I’d read about an optional staff “tips” fee, and it does exist, but nobody pressures you to pay it. I had a really good stay and would come back.

The location and facilities seemed promising, but the strong chemical smell made the stay unbearable. We told the staff right away, and they kindly moved us to another room, only to find the same intense odor there. We felt physically unwell, so we checked out around 10 PM that night and had to find another hotel at short notice. Since we changed plans at the last minute, the replacement accommodation cost significantly more. INNSiDE agreed to refund just one of the two nights we’d booked, so our lodging costs basically doubled and the issue ruined the trip. The hotel needs to investigate and fix whatever is causing the persistent smell. After such a miserable experience, we’ll never stay here again.

I stayed at Inniside Meliá Milano Torre Galfa for the first time on a short solo birthday trip in December, and everything was great. The hotel was comfortable and close to the city center. Check-in was quick, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I’m already looking forward to coming back next month for a girls’ trip.

The hotel was a good fit for a night before a flight and a bit of quick sightseeing. It’s an easy walk to Milan Central Station, and breakfast was basic and fairly standard. The checkout left a bad taste, though. The receptionist asked for a service fee or tip in a way my wife recognized as a direct request for a tip. I travel often and had never had that happen before. It was a strange way to end an otherwise perfectly fine stay.
