The room was spacious and clean, with an old-time feel inside that made it romantic. My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay of over a week. Angelo, the young owner, was very polite and helpful. I can’t wait to return.

The checkout was another problem: they tried to charge me the tourist tax a second time. The employee didn’t believe I’d paid it on arrival, even though he knows perfectly well that you don’t get the key if you haven’t paid the tax at check-in. Our nine-hour bus trip had just ended when we got there, but three reception employees were all focused on the same guest. Nobody stepped away to help us, so we waited 15 minutes to check in despite having booked and prepaid online. The staff were shamefully rude and didn’t even say hello or thank you. The worst was the young blond guy. He said nothing to me and put my key on the counter with a disgusted look instead of handing it to me. Do they dislike disabled customers? The room isn’t up to four-star standards. The blanket had cigarette burns, and the shower handle was taped up with duct tape. One day it could come off in someone’s hand and leave them trapped, since there’s no other grip. The tiny, low-end TV was another letdown. Whenever a neighbor flushed or ran water, the pipes shook the walls and made an infernal racket. The hotel is a disaster, very far from the city center, in a dodgy neighborhood, overlooking a construction site.

The room I got was clearly worse than the one I’d booked, and when I complained after checking in late at night, staff refused to refund the price difference. I’d paid for a room advertised with an inner garden view and a bathtub, but got neither. Instead, the window looked onto an empty lot covered in graffiti. The cost wasn’t justified by the quality of the stay, and the customer service was extremely disappointing. This was without a doubt the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Angelo, the owner, was professional and helpful. The vintage hotel and room were beautiful, everything was clean and neat, and the breakfast was really tasty. I stayed for 10 days, had a great experience, and would come back. Highly recommend.

It was a great stay. The staff were very nice and helpful. Rooms are small, but big enough for one person or a couple.
