LUMERA STAY - Solferino

The staff were very friendly and the location was excellent, but I thought the price was too high for the room and what was included. The suite was spacious, though it wasn't the one shown in the pictures at first. There were no pictures in the booking confirmation, only the suite name, so you can't prove you got something different from what you booked. City tax is extra, at 19 euros per couple per night.

The bathroom is big, the wifi is super fast, and the room is new and clean. It also has a full set of kitchenware, which is really helpful for longer stays. The soundproofing is only so-so because our room faced the main road, but it was still quite price-worthy. The entrance was a little hard to spot, since there wasn't a clear “Lumera Stay” sign at the main entrance.

The toilet was visibly dirty, as shown in the attached photo, and the hygiene issue made the room unusable. We had to leave straight away and book somewhere else at a higher price. That extra cost came directly from the property's condition and should be reimbursed.

I booked several months ahead for November 28th to 30th, but the reservation was canceled with less than 24 hours' notice. At 4:00 p.m. on the 27th, I got a brief email from Booking saying it had been “successfully canceled.” It even looked as if I'd canceled it myself, which I hadn't. Nobody explained what happened, and I was left without a place to stay. The alternative they offered was on the outskirts of Milan, and neither the hotel nor Booking provided compensation. This was very poor management and completely unprofessional. I don't consider them reliable for bookings and wouldn't recommend the place.
