Milan Apartment Rental

The studio + en-suite room had everything we needed in a very central area. It was warm during our winter visit, and the TV worked with lots of channels. The room was tidy and very clean, with comfortable bedding and complimentary toiletries that gave it a hotel feel.

This rental was horrible, zero stars. I wish I could post my rating on Booking or Expedia too, but I can’t. Don’t trust the website or the Booking/Expedia pictures. They charged extra for AC, which wasn’t disclosed before renting. The beds were the most uncomfortable ever, and the pillows were horrible. The fridge barely got cold, so I wouldn’t trust it with food. Its freezer was covered in mold. The shower door was broken, and most electrical outlets didn’t work, so good luck charging your phone. The WIFI seemed like it was installed in 1995 and never updated. There was no signal, and if by some miracle you got connected, it lasted two minutes. Bring an ESim if you want to use the internet. Check-in took forever because it was so bureaucratic. The staff person was very upset to have to discuss why we were unhappy about hidden costs like the AC. The bathroom ceiling was covered in mold, and the sofabeds were so dirty. We would’ve walked out if the booking had been refundable, but it was non refundable, so we were stuck with this complete crap. The owner will likely reply that they can’t find my booking in their records, but that means nothing because the apartment was booked under someone else in my group. Trust me, if you’re considering this rental, go elsewhere. I’ve traveled a lot, and this was by far the worst rental in Europe for cleanliness and customer service. Actually, even worse than Central America. To the owner: do better. Update your photos to show the current place, fix the wifi, and deep-clean the apartments. Mold in the washroom or freezer/fridge isn’t acceptable. Improve your customer service.

The apartment was a comfortable base for our Milan visit, with plenty of space, a well-stocked kitchen and a cozy living area. It was only a two-minute walk from Milan Central Station, and the main sights were reachable within 30 minutes by public transport. Check-in went smoothly, and the friendly, responsive host gave us the information we needed. A couple of details caught us off guard. At check-in we were asked for credit card details to hold a security deposit, which hadn't been mentioned beforehand. We were also told to clean thoroughly before leaving or pay a €50 fee. The place was well maintained when we arrived, so spending time cleaning at the end of the trip felt inconvenient, especially since other rentals often include that service. Even with those frustrations, we enjoyed the spacious, well-equipped apartment and its convenient location. I'd still recommend it, but clarify the deposit and cleaning requirements before booking.
