The best part of the apartment was the laundry, which came in handy. It’s newly renovated and comfortable, and they left a free bottle of sparkling wine. The owner was pretty responsive whenever we had questions, even though this place is complicated. It’s an old apartment complex, so figuring out the entry and parking took a lot of effort. Parking and the gate were tricky with our two small kids. It was odd that the comforter and bedsheets weren’t set up, but we were told to get them from the closet. We noticed an unpleasant smell from the bathroom, as another review had mentioned, so it wasn’t a surprise. I guess with an old house you can’t get everything right. The breakfast voucher offered three restaurants. We went to 142 and loved it. I was surprised when our booking was canceled by them and thought we’d lost the reservation. It turned out they charged directly at the nearby restaurant, which confused us. Parking was expensive at $30 Euros per day. Arriving at 9pm and staying until 4pm the next day would mean another $30, but he agreed to let us stay until 1pm without a hefty extra fee. Parking in Milan is hard, so we were grateful to have a safe place for the car.

We had a really nice stay. The apartment was very clean, and we could leave the car in a closed box. The woman who checked us in was really nice, and we stayed in good contact through WhatsApp.
The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable short visit, or even a longer stay. It was spotlessly clean and thoughtfully furnished, with premium bedding, down comforters, and a fully equipped kitchen with a stovetop, oven, dishwasher, and coffee and tea maker. The team was super friendly and quick to respond from the moment we arrived. They communicated clearly and helped with all our questions. We loved Milano Apartments Mortara 17. It’s tucked into the charming Navigli neighborhood, with an excellent location and easy walking access to the Duomo and city center, just as we’d experienced on our last trip.
We booked through Booking.com along with three other families, and all the reservations were canceled on arrival day. The flat managers said the cards were invalid, but that wasn’t true for any of us. When we got to the street, staff were waiting to take credit card payments. It seemed obvious they’d canceled the Booking.com reservations to avoid the fee. We’d booked a one-bedroom apartment, but it was a studio. It was meant to sleep four, though the sofa bed was small and had a lumpy, uncomfortable mattress. The flat was also a fourth-floor walk-up with no elevator, which was a problem with all our luggage. Other people in the building clearly weren’t happy about tourists renting the apartment. They shouted at us while we carried luggage up and down the stone stairs, which was unpleasant. I recommend avoiding this place. There are many better options for the same price.
The apartment was clean, modern, and well equipped in a lovely old Italian building, on a quiet street with no noise at night. There are lots of bars and restaurants right nearby. Support was flexible, friendly, and easy to deal with. We also got wine and free breakfast at one of five cafes we could choose from. Really cool, thanks a lot, five stars! 👍🏼
