We had a smooth, enjoyable stay thanks to the front desk staff. The studios were spacious for Milan and had everything we needed. It’s a good spot, with restaurants, pharmacies, a tailor shop, salons, and other useful places nearby. It’s away from the crowds, but easy to get around from there. The one downside was our room on the 3rd floor. The walls were so dirty that it felt like staying in a garage. They could use a repaint. Still, it was a great experience overall, and I’d come back and recommend it.

Loved the room and the great common area. The gym was handy after a full 3 course Italian meal. Amazing stay in Milan, and I’ll definitely be back soon!

We booked a room here in September 2025 and ended up leaving for another hotel. Sonder agreed to refund us in full, which was great, though getting it sorted through the third party agent we booked with took a very long time. The problems started when we arrived in the morning. This is a self check in hotel, but its “secure” entrance door was wide open even though you’re supposed to need a code. We left our luggage in the lockers and went to use the bathroom, only to find urine all over the walls. It made me think people could come in through the open door to use the downstairs gym and bathrooms. When we raised it with the receptionist, she had every excuse for why the door was open and the walls were dirty. We were exhausted and check-in wasn’t until 4pm, so we tried to move past it. Once we finally got to our room, there was black mould around the A/C vent and an obvious leak. I’m seriously concerned about this. I believe they leave the door open in the morning to let the mould smell out. We were given two different rooms, and both had black mould in the shower. This is a relatively new hotel, but it still presents a major health risk. I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you don’t want mould spores in your lungs.

Even for just one night, it felt like having a whole studio home. The kitchen was properly equipped with a dishwasher, cutlery, stove, microwave oven, and sink. There’s Roku on the TV, and the bathroom includes a laundry room with a washing machine.

All communication goes through the Sonder app chat, and the person replying kept changing. The answers were inconsistent and confusing, which made trying to resolve problems frustrating and inefficient. I chose Sonder Atelier mainly for the gym, but it was dusty and clearly not well maintained. It looked nothing like the website photos, which was a major letdown. Luggage storage was nearly impossible too. There wasn’t reliably anyone at reception, so guests had to use a coin locker system that’s supposed to be free. I checked out at 8:00 AM and found every locker occupied. Had everyone really checked out before 8 AM, or was the hotel using them for something else? I had to wait until a staff member finally appeared, disrupting my travel plans. I stayed five nights, but Sonder charges the same nightly rate for one night or five, with no discount for a longer stay. I was given four towels at check-in, then charged €5 when I asked for fresh ones. Room cleaning costs another €20-30. I don’t understand why I had to pay extra during a five-night stay for things like towels and a clean room that come with the same amenities on a one-night stay. The booking page didn’t clearly mention these fees, and when I questioned them, a staff member played word games. It felt borderline fraudulent. It was a truly terrible stay. Hidden charges, little basic service, and poor communication mean I wouldn’t recommend Sonder Atelier or return.
