Portrait Milano - Lungarno Collection

Breakfast was a real highlight for me. I loved being able to choose the fruit and vegetables for a fresh green juice, and everything tasted so fresh and delicious. We were traveling with three kids, and the team made us feel welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. The hotel is beautifully styled, elegant and warm without feeling pretentious, and it still felt comfortable for a family. The rooms had thoughtful touches, including two Dyson, which made getting ready feel like a treat. A sophisticated place that I'd love to return to.

I was in room 212, with its cardinal red carpet, rich furnishings, and walk-in closet that looked like a leather trunk. Even with the stylish crowds buzzing around Piazza Quadrilatero, the room felt like a tucked-away sanctuary. The hotel has lovely elegant public areas and quieter private spaces. For the holidays, the courtyard becomes an enchanting ice rink. Portrait Rome impressed me when I stayed there 14 years ago, and Portrait Milano is even more extraordinary. It's in the fashion district, with 73 rooms in a former 16th-century baroque seminary with columns, transformed into a magical hotel by designer Michele Bonan and architect Michele de Lucchi. I had an aperitivo at Rumore Bar and ate at restaurant 10_11. There were hits and misses with the food, but the service, wine selection, and generous portions of truffles were great. There's also the more formal Beef Bar from Monte Carlo. Peak holiday rates were €1316. Impeccable stay, 5/5.

Sara deserves my particular thanks for her kindness, elegance, and thoughtful attention. After the Grace of God, so much of what made our time memorable came from her support, coordination, and heartfelt hospitality. She really represents the highest level of guest care. The entire Portrait Milano team treated us with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. We travel often and have stayed at many famous hotels around the world, but this experience was unmatched. Thank you all for making our stay so meaningful. We'll certainly return, and I'd highly recommend Portrait Milano to anyone looking for a world-class stay in Milan.

The location made it easy to get around Milan, from its attractions to the shopping streets and restaurants. Inside, Portrait Milano feels like a quiet oasis away from the busy streets, with a lovely mix of modern design, elegance, and warm Italian hospitality. The rooms are beautifully designed and spotlessly clean, with thoughtful details throughout. It felt luxurious but still inviting. Whether you're here for work or a holiday, it's a comfortable, refined stay that I'd recommend. Love it 🍓
