Hotel RossoVino

I came from London to Milan for a holiday and stayed at this hotel for one night. The next day I noticed bites and redness on my body, and I’m currently being treated for it. As the photos show, the place isn’t clean.

They took my money even though I didn’t stay, after I told them I wouldn’t be coming. I asked for a refund and to change the dates, but they refused both even though rooms were available, as they themselves mentioned. They ignored my messages. Horrendous customer service and behavior. Avoid.

The location was very good for our two-night stay, and the room was cleaned each day as you’d expect at a hotel. The Wi-Fi worked only now and then, but was usable. The room itself was in poor shape: the door locked, but a nail stuck out; the toilet had no lid; cables came out beside the bed; and there was mold in places. The soap smelled like wine, which I found pretty gross, so bring your own shampoo if you don’t like that wine-like scent. It may seem like a bad hostel, but remember it’s a two-star hotel and set your expectations accordingly.

The hotel workers were friendly, and the room was spacious and surprisingly clean for a two-star place. But the middle of the night brought a horrendous situation for all the guests. The power went out, leaving a pregnant woman stuck outside because she couldn’t get into the building. A family with little children and a newborn couldn’t sleep because the AC was off, and everyone was left boiling in Milan’s +30 night heat. I’d booked specifically to get away from the Milan summer heat for a couple of days, so I’m very disappointed. There was no emergency number, and we had to call local firefighters to break open the automatic entrance door. The hotel staff didn’t offer any compensation for what happened.
