When we returned around 2 a.m. after going out at about 1, we had to stand in the street for 15 minutes while the receptionist woke up to let us in. We were cold and worried. It was the same Chinese lady who seemed to work 24 hours straight, lounging around in her Chinese pyjamas. We’d checked in that afternoon and the room was fine, apart from the WiFi not working. We left our things there and went into the city centre. While we were out, the receptionist moved everything to another room without asking or warning us. My passport and personal documents had been on the desk, and she picked it all up and put it in the new room. That room was smaller, with a smaller toilet and a rusty shower. There was also a broken electrical wall plug with wires dangling above my pillow. I’m glad I noticed before going to sleep.
