The location works well for a trip to the Aeolian Islands because it’s close to the port, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a general holiday. The customer service staff were very kind and helpful, especially one lovely person who tried hard to listen. Still, there were too many problems, and she couldn’t fix everything without support from the owners. The room was basic, and cleaning wasn’t always done properly, though the staff were friendly and there was a pleasant air freshener scent. The outside area was neglected for most of our stay, with new plants added and watered only in the last few days. The lawn was fairly large but overgrown. Doors were flimsy and creaked, including the room’s front door. We couldn’t close them at night to use the bathroom without waking the people we were with. The building seems to be made of poor materials, with thin walls and lots of noise. The mattress wasn’t good for restful sleep, and there were damp patches in some parts of the room. There are no window screens, so we had to keep the shutters or windows closed. The largest room, the one with the king-size balcony, didn’t have a great view. The automatic entrance door sometimes got stuck. The bathroom had structural issues that weren’t all easy to fix, and hot water could take too long to come through. Breakfast was supposed to be a 3 euro voucher per person for a nearby café, but the café was closed and no one arranged an alternative, so I couldn’t use it. The young woman we spoke with made a real effort, but the owners’ help was needed. I hope they sort these things out so the place can be more than a stopover for island trips and earn the excellent review it could deserve. Good luck.

The rooms were cleaned and tidied every day, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our garden-view room had a big balcony with a table and two chairs. Two horses grazed in the garden all day. The only drawback is the location, so I’d suggest hiring a scooter or bike. I usually walked into the city center, which took about 25 minutes at an easy pace.

The terrace had a lovely view of the pitch, and the area was quiet at night, so we slept well. Our room was nicely kept, spacious, and comfortable, with a large private terrace and a table and two chairs. Everything was great overall, though the bathroom could use a little more attention: there were splashes on the mirror and the toilet bowl was yellowed inside. We stayed just one night and chose breakfast at the bar with the voucher rather than having it brought to the room. Maybe because we arrived late, at 10 in the morning, there was almost nothing left.

We were only there for one night, but the way things were handled caused us problems four times in 24 hours. The person with the keys wasn’t there when we arrived, and after several calls we finally got an answer and had to wait to check in. In August, the air conditioning not working was a real problem, and our window faced the noisy road. Breakfast was served much farther away, in an area where our tourist car wasn’t allowed. We had told the person we planned to check out at 8:30 a.m., but she still hadn’t arrived by 8:50. We had to come back in the evening to pay and waited a long time again for her to show up. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this B&B. The staff were also far from friendly.
