La Casa di Pina

Mrs. Pina was so welcoming and kind. The house was spotless, smelled lovely, and had everything we needed. We’ll definitely come back!

We stayed here again from October 11-14, 2024, and I can confirm what I wrote two years earlier. This is now my go-to place whenever I’m in Modica, and I hope to return soon. ❤️ On our first visit, April 7-10, 2022, we stayed in Modica Sorda, the modern part of Modica. The apartment was welcoming, comfortable, and absolutely clean. It had a large living area with TV and air conditioning, a small kitchenette with all the conveniences, including a coffee machine and microwave, a bathroom with a bathtub and washing machine, and a bedroom with air conditioning and a relaxation area. The terrace beside the kitchen and the street entrance both face quiet streets. There’s a bakery and fishmonger right across the street, and I can confirm the fish is absolutely fresh. Mrs. Pina is extremely kind and helpful, a fine example of the proverbial Sicilian hospitality. Highly recommended!!!!

We spent a week at Mrs. Pina's house with our 10-month-old twins, and it was so clean that the babies crawled everywhere. Getting in with a stroller was easy, and the quiet area has lots of parking plus useful places nearby, including a fishmonger, deli, bar, tobacconist, and bakery. The property really has every comfort, and kindness and friendliness are its hallmarks. We’ll definitely be back!

Parking was easy to find in the large lot right by the entrance, and there’s a delicatessen and grocery store across the street. It’s a quiet area, though not in the city center, which is quite a walk away, so it’s ideal if you’re traveling by car. Pina made check-in and check-out easy and was very kind. The place is a whole house, not just a room, with a spacious entrance hall and large bedroom. It’s thoughtfully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen and coffee machine, a bathroom with washing machine, and two air conditioners, one for the bedroom and one for the living area. It was spotless when we arrived, so clean we felt bad that it would need cleaning again for just one night.
