Debra Park Hotel

We stayed with our family at the beginning of January, and this was the best accommodation we've ever had. The rooms are spacious, large, very tidy, and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner. You can choose what you want and they prepare it just for you. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and varied, with something delicious for everyone. The staff were especially lovely, always ready to help and serve, and the cleaners tidied our room every day. Most of all, we liked the owner, Mrs.Cyintia, who always had a big smile 🙂 The hotel is in a great spot, five minutes from the center of Moena. The ski bus stop is right in front, with a 10-minute ride to the beautiful Alpe Lusia ski resort and 20 minutes to Passo San Pellegrino. We'd love to come back and definitely recommend it. The food is wonderful, all local, and staying here really does feel like being at home. We've been coming as a family for four years, and the hospitality feels personal every time. This is our favourite place.

We were due to spend a week at Debra Park Hotel in early March 2020, but with Northern Italy at the start of the Covid19 pandemic, we didn't want to put our family at risk. I called Cinthia and explained our health concerns and the work and school restrictions we'd face on returning from Italy, then considered the epicentre of the outbreak. We would have had to stay home for two weeks on unpaid leave, since I can't work remotely, and the kids would have missed school too. We asked if the deposit could be kept for the following year. At first, Cinthia said over the phone that half could be transferred. Later, though, her emails described the concern as media hysteria, claimed the situation was under control and nobody was sick, and said there was “no real danger, only a virtual one.” She then told us we'd lose the whole deposit if we didn't come. The Italian Ministry of Health's figures on infections and deaths by region said otherwise, and it seemed clear to me she was misleading us. More calls and emails led nowhere. She never refunded the deposit or agreed to carry even half forward. I felt she knowingly gave us false information that could put our family's health at risk. Not long afterwards, the borders and winter ski resorts closed, and we were relieved we'd stayed away. Driving across four countries with two small children, border checks, temperature checks, delays, and the risk that one of us might get the flu or a fever would have been a nightmare.

Cinzia and the team made us feel very welcome. We’re definitely coming back.
