The owners, Douglas and Elizabeth, know the area well and are happy to share suggestions and directions, especially for places to eat. We stayed in the countryside outside Monopoli, at a lovely farmhouse with gardens and a pool, and found it very relaxing. There are several kinds of accommodation, including a private villa, a self-catering apartment and B&B rooms. Breakfast was tasty, with homemade jams, fresh meat and cheese, croissants, fruit from the farm and other local produce.

Doug and Elizabeth were so hospitable, and their local tips, directions and recommendations were excellent. The gardens and pool are gorgeous, too. It’s a beautiful, quiet place to stay and properly relax.

We left Masseria Due Torri already wanting to come back. Doug and Elisabeth were wonderfully kind, and the breakfast was excellent. The rooms are tastefully furnished, with a lovely pool and a garden among olive trees and an English lawn. It’s also close to the sea, Monopoli’s historic center and plenty of other beautiful places to visit. Such a pleasure to stay here.

I couldn’t see anything past the entrance gate. The property belongs to a private owner, English or Dutch, I’m not sure. I knocked several times and waited about 15 minutes before he came to the gate.
