B&B Il Gelsomino

The owners were friendly, helpful, and easy to deal with, and the price felt average for what we got. It’s a casual, clean B&B with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi, though the furnishings could use some improvement. There are three en-suite rooms and a shared kitchen where you can eat, which also doubles as reception. It’s on a road a few kilometers from the sea, so the location isn’t especially convenient, and parking is limited.

The towels were clean, at least. The mattress in one room was badly deformed and kept pushing you to one side while you slept. We’d booked the whole apartment as a family, but there wasn’t a breakfast table big enough for all six of us, so we had to carry one in from the room just to sit together for half an hour. This is a B&B, and having everyone eat in separate rooms defeats the point of being together. The “fresh” croissants were hard and still the same the following day. When we raised the lack of little details, the reply was that workers usually need to get to work and don’t expect too many details. The coffee pods ran out after the first day and weren’t replaced.

Stefania was exceptionally helpful, and the courtesy and good manners really stood out. I was only here for a day for work, but the spacious room and bathroom were very clean and tastefully furnished, with everything I needed. It was peaceful and quiet. I’d happily recommend staying at Gelsomino if you’re in the Montalto di Castro area. Thanks so much.

The room for two was small, but very clean and had everything needed for a short stay. It’s close to the center of Montalto di Castro and about 5 km from the lido, with public parking nearby. The price was very good.
