What we remember most about Bi Hotel is how Massi came to help us when we were stranded. My husband and I were traveling by bus during the last week of October, when almost everything was closed for the off season. Our last bus back broke down on a dark, empty road in heavy rain and dropping temperatures. There were no cars, buses, or taxis around, but we managed to reach Massi at the front desk. He got in his car and came to rescue us. We're so grateful to him for getting us out of that awful situation. The hotel itself also made for a lovely stay. Open the balcony door and there's a spectacular view of the calm sea, boats along the docks, mountains, and colorful homes on the hilltops. It's right across the street from the water, and the sound of waves at night was so calming. They also served a sweet little breakfast of pastries and juice. Bi Hotel really treated us like family.

We only had one night and wished we'd booked more. The harbor views from the balcony were lovely, and the room was bigger than average. The hotel is right above the harbor in central Porto Ercole, with everything in town easy to reach on foot. Everyone was friendly, and breakfast was a great start to the day.

The staff were nice, and the rooms were clean. They're a bit small, but for the price they're big enough. The room and bathroom look recently updated, though the work doesn't seem fully finished. One tip: don't ask the hotel to arrange a taxi. We paid more than EUR 100 for a round trip to a restaurant just 5 km away. That's why we gave it 3 stars instead of 4.

Right across from Porto Ercole's little harbor, it's a handy base for exploring Mount Argentario. The place was clean and felt safe, and the people were kind and helpful.
