The staff were friendly, and the older hotel was clean, but our room was unbearably hot. When we asked about AC, we were told it had to be turned on at the front desk. There was no AC, so they gave us a fan and suggested opening the window. Our first floor room faced the parking lot, though, and we weren’t going to sleep with the window open. Breakfast was decent, but not great. Without our tour group, I wouldn’t have stayed here.

The room experience was awful compared with the pictures posted online. I’ve posted photos of the bedroom, so look at those. The bed sheets, foam, and quilt cover were rubbish. Even a two-star s***** hotel has better beds and sheets. There was no Wi-Fi during our visit, and apparently no backup connection. On top of that, there was no 5G signal in the room, so we couldn’t use our own internet either.

Dear Hotel Cardinal Team, We’re very disappointed by the state of our room and the hotel’s general standards. It’s dirty, the towels smell unpleasant, and breakfast was a complete letdown, nowhere near what we expected from a 4-star hotel. Please clean the room properly or move us to another one, and replace the towels right away. Given the poor quality and inconvenience, we’re also asking for a partial refund or some other compensation. We hope this can be sorted quickly. Kind regards, Brunneder Adrian

The food and its service were outstanding, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The hotel was excellent overall. Our rooms were very clean, though they could use a little maintenance.

The lobby and bar were the only parts that were okay. The rooms had thin walls, disgusting linens, and a hard mattress, and the restaurant food was horrible. The whole place felt like a very basic motel. I’m not sure whether it used to hold a 4-star rating and simply stopped keeping up, but this is NOT a 4 star hotel.
