Hotel Cavallotti & Giotto

I really liked this hotel, including its beautiful reception hall and interior. The rooms were spacious and clean, and we were lucky to get a huge balcony. It looked like the pictures online, which I appreciate. Breakfast was fine, nothing special, but enough to leave me satisfied. The owner was really nice too. I'd stay here again if I returned to Montecatini.

The family who runs this hotel were warm, helpful, and clearly cared about looking after guests. They went out of their way to meet my dietary needs, no pork and no mixing meat with dairy. Dinner was delicious and served in generous portions. We spent a week here with a group of soccer players and their families, and everyone had a great time, including my son, his friends, and the parents. It's a simple, clean, pleasant, and comfortable family hotel, with a quiet, safe area where our teens enjoyed walking around. A wonderful cozy place to stay in Italy, highly recommended.

I've never stayed in a dirtier hotel. The stained bedspreads and hair all over the beds and bathroom were awful. I can't believe the place is operating like this. The air conditioning only blows fan air and doesn't cool. When you try to set it to cold, it shuts off. The problem isn't its age, it's how unpleasant the place is. It shouldn't be open to the public. We checked out that same day and moved to The Hotel Reale nearby, which was a thousand times better.

The location is good, but the staff seemed uninterested when we asked for help. They'd just walk past. The receptionist also works as a waiter and kitchen assistant, so be prepared to wait if you need anything. Our checkout was meant to be at 10 a.m., but they moved it to 9 because a new group was arriving and wanted the rooms cleared sooner so they could "sort them out". The rooms were dirty, the shower door wouldn't close, the fridge didn't work, and the balcony door wouldn't shut either. The curtains and bed headboards had a stale, unpleasant smell. The beds were miserable, with peeling metal legs, and the wardrobes looked 50 years old. There was dust all over the TV shelf. The terrace had only one old metal chair despite the room being for two. Dirty, dirty, dirty. I've never stayed in a worse hotel, and it doesn't deserve a single star. I wonder what criteria Italy uses to give it three.
