Getting around from here was easy by train, including trips to Lucca, Florence and Vierriegio. What really made the hotel special, though, was the genuine care from everyone. The kitchen staff cheerfully adjusted the set menu for vegetarian needs or when someone didn't want a particular dish, and reception were very helpful. The owners were on site keeping an eye on things, and the artistic ceilings were lovely to look at before falling asleep. Thanks to Julia at reception, Rosa, Marco, and the whole team at this unique boutique hotel.

We spent a week at The Puccini Hotel in October 2023, and the easy walk into town was handy. The outdoor seating area, with its lovely sofas, was a great spot for a drink before or after dinner. Inside, the public spaces felt elegant, while our bedroom was quiet, comfortable and clean. The food and service were very good, too. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and having the owners around to make sure things ran smoothly gave the place a relaxed, family feel.

The bill at checkout took the shine off an otherwise lovely stay. Two days after we returned to our room and found it hadn't been made up, my wife paid while I fetched the car. They'd added what seemed a hefty €15 for the Spritz and non-alcoholic drink the receptionist had offered us while we waited. At the time, we thought the apology and drinks were an acceptable way to handle the missed room cleaning. The hotel itself felt like a genuine boutique place, with a cordial owner and staff. Our superior room was really spacious and tastefully furnished, better than a four-star room, and the meals were good.

The room was clean and fairly roomy by European standards, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were tiny, but clean and functional. I also liked being able to open the balcony door for fresh air while keeping the shutters closed. There's a restaurant and a small bar, and the hotel has just the amenities it needs. Best of all, the staff gave the kind of personal service you don't get from big chains. It felt family-run, and like they really cared about us. There are fancier places nearby, but I truly enjoyed staying here.
