We arrived early and they kindly let us check in ahead of time for free. The room, shared spaces, thermal pools, and spa were perfectly clean throughout. The location was ideal, surrounded by greenery and with scenic walking routes nearby. We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff were very friendly and supportive.

I saw today that this is a holiday anniversary. We stayed here three years ago, and honestly, I loved it. It was quiet and relaxing, everything was clean and well looked after, and the staff were friendly and fluent in several languages. I remember one gentleman in shorts checking on everything all the time.

Hotel Des Bains sits in a 50,000 square meter park and has a particularly good, newly renovated termae facility for thermal, wellness, and beauty treatments, plus a huge sparkling turquoise thermal pool. Some original design details remain, including gorgeous retro 60s tiles in pristine condition. It has a bit of a La Dolce Vita feel. The fitness facility and Thermarium saunas are fairly basic and could be better. I think a Finnish sauna would be a great addition. This is my fourth stay at this lovely family owned hotel. The staff are warm, friendly, kind, hospitable, and multilingual, and they work hard to meet guests’ needs. Most guests seem to be German, Swiss, or Italian. There are drinks and snacks by the pool all day, evening aperitifs, a large covered outdoor patio, and live entertainment. It’s excellent value for money. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with wonderful unobstructed sunrise or sunset views over the Euganean Hills. The food is delicious and fresh, with a wide range of choices, including gluten free and vegan options. I recommend booking full board in advance to save a substantial amount. Half board is a good alternative if you plan to explore the area and will have one meal out. The hotel is a six minute walk from Terme Euganee-Abano-Montegrotto station, with quick day trips to Venice in 30 minutes, Padua in 15, Bolognia in 60, and beyond. A tip: book a morning fango treatment with Mirko. Sunrise fango with him is my favorite way to start the day. I’ve visited five other spas in the area and had more than 60 fango treatments in the past 18 months, and I can say with confidence that Mirko is the region’s best kept secret and an absolute star.

The air conditioning kept blowing warm air, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work. Apart from those issues, it was okay for the money.
