Agriturismo Podere Casa al Vento

Paolo’s farm is down the white roads, and it’s a place where a small, genuine Italian family welcomes you like friends, brings you into their home, and introduces you to their family, farm, and wines. Paolo, the sommelier, knows his stuff and speaks English. His sister is so kind, his mother keeps bringing cheese, meat, and bread until you’re full to bursting, and his father greets you with a smile as he walks around the farm. We heard about life among the vineyard and olive trees, including the stress of drought and hail, and the deer and wild boar that come by too. We’re already hoping to return soon. We can’t wait to go back.

We arrived at the last minute and stayed just one night, but the place was amazing. Our host made us feel at home, and the self-contained apartment worked really well with two kids since we could prepare food for them and ourselves without going out. We’ll be back!

Waking up beside the vineyards to views of Tuscany’s hills and old hill towns was wonderful. Our new one-bedroom unit was comfortable, spotless, and spacious. Giulia and her family are warm, lovely people, and being their guests was a pleasure. When we arrived, Giulia took time to explain the area and share plenty of tips. She checked in each day and helped us with little things, too. Her tasting tour felt personal and was really interesting. The wine and olive oil were both very good. This beautiful farm in Val D'Orcia was a highlight of our trip, and we hope we can stay with them again. We’re so glad we found this little slice of heaven.

We had a great room and a lovely stay. The family were really friendly. Dinner with the wine tasting can be ordered for about 25€ per person, and it was super delicious.
