We meant to stay one night at Lodole Country House, but ended up adding another day. After hiking until we were exhausted and getting caught in bad weather, Lodole welcomed us in for an extra night and helped arrange a rental car. Elena was wonderful, and they treated us like old friends. Those two days are my favorite memories from our 15 days in Italy. Huge thanks to Elena, Michael, and the whole team. I absolutely recommend it.

We were a group of eight walking the via degli dei, and Lodole was a wonderful stop. The hosts were so welcoming, and we had a delicious dinner with fantastic food. The hotel has a large pool that was warm enough for a swim in early May. They were finishing a bar by the pool when we left. The view from the hotel is great, and breakfast was really good too. Highly recommend!

The pool was such a lovely place to relax, and we had a great stay during our one-night stop on the “Via Degli Dei.” The room was incredibly clean, breakfast was delicious, and the staff welcomed us warmly and helped us out. The one drawback for us as hikers was the location: it’s not close to the Via Degli Dei, and crossing those roads isn’t always safe. Even so, we’d absolutely recommend this wonderful place.

A lovely spot for a few quiet days surrounded by nature, away from crowded cities. The interior and exterior are both great, and Florence and Bologna are each less than an hour away. There’s a large, clean, well-kept swimming pool above the house, with sunbeds and umbrellas. The hosts are a very kind couple who can give you directions to places and activities to enjoy.
