Hotel El Pamas

The front desk girls were kind, and the room itself was nice, but there were problems I couldn’t get resolved. I had to switch rooms because the shower wouldn’t drain; in the next room the toilet seat and door handle were broken, and my request to change rooms again went nowhere. At 1 a.m. on my last night, housekeeping opened the door and came in, which scared me. They apologized, then started vacuuming in the middle of the night. I called reception and only managed to get back to sleep around 4 a.m. There was cleaning at all hours, yet the place always smelled of stagnant water. Maybe changing the water in the bucket would help. I stayed five nights, split across two nights one week and three the next, and I definitely won’t return.

The bathroom was completely open, with no door or wall, so there was no privacy. The fire alarm went off 4-5 times a night. More of a place for a quick date.

The bathrooms could do with a door or something to give that area some privacy. Aside from that, everything was fine: the place was clean and everyone was helpful. We stayed for two nights and three days, and the welcome was truly spectacular.

The room was spacious and had a striking look, with an open shower, no bathroom door, and a whirlpool tub beside the bed. But basic things were missing, like bedside tables, a chair, towel racks, and a hook for the toilet paper, which was left on the sink. The bed also seemed dusty. I was there for one work night and got no sleep while the neighbors were having fun. Housekeeping was noisy too, and woke me several times. This is a hotel by the hour, so it doesn’t suit business travelers; it seems popular with couples looking for something other than rest and quiet. The property is new, but I don’t think it deserves the advertised four stars. There’s no breakfast room or restaurant, though breakfast is served at the adjacent bar. The front desk might have offered me a quieter room farther away, especially since I was traveling alone.
