Colosseo Relais

The breakfasts were fresh and delicious, a traditional Italian breakfast brought to our room each morning. Our room was very clean, smelled welcoming, and had a lovely atmosphere. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. My wife and I stayed at this charming BnB in Rome’s archaeological downtown, in a very safe area close to restaurants, shops, and monuments. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Piazza Venezia were especially close. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

The coffee maker leaked, and the TV and AC remote controls had dead batteries. The service felt sloppy and there wasn’t really any. What really ruined the stay was coming back after about 12 hours out in Rome on my second day to find the dirty towels from the day before, the ones we’d left on the floor, hanging up for us to use. I called because the staff are off site, and they told me they don’t provide towels on the second day. It was gross and I was horrified, so I had to go out that night and buy towels. Even with the Colosseum very close, the overall experience didn’t impress me. For the price, I’d never stay here again. That towel incident left a really bad taste, and there are better places to stay in Rome.

We’ve only done one of our three nights so far, but I’m already in awe. I love our little room and how close it is to everything. We walk a lot and hate using taxis or anything like that. The woman running the place is a sweetheart, though I didn’t catch her name, and she serves breakfast in the morning. I’ve already shared the location with a few friends travelling later this year. The shower is a bit tight, that’s my only complaint.

Good places to eat were right outside, and breakfast was brought to our room every morning at 9 am. They sorted out every extra request straight away, and we’d definitely stay again. The room was super clean, the service very kind, and it was only a five-minute walk from the Colosseum. We had a wonderful stay.
