Breakfast made our night here memorable. The Italian coffee was great, and the pastries were hard to resist. We tried the strawberry and cream croissant, the pistachio one, and apple tart. The room was clean, and there was free parking outside. Since we were getting in late, we let the hotel know and they gave us the front door PIN, with our key waiting at reception. One mix-up: booking showed checkout at 11, but reception said it was actually 10. We’d stay again.

I can’t leave a positive review because of how Hotel Calaluna handled something I left behind. I noticed soon after checking out that I’d forgotten personal items in the room fridge. When I called, they said anything left behind is immediately thrown away under their regulation, without checking or contacting the guest. A quick call or message would have been enough. Guests should be told they’ve forgotten something instead of having their belongings discarded without a second thought.

The nearby road makes the place a bit noisy, and that’s the one thing bringing my rating down. The hotel/motel itself is very nice, clean, and modern. It’s on the first floor above a coffee and cake shop. Breakfast lets you choose from the cafe for free, which works well if you like cake, though there isn’t much else to pick from. The price was good: €75 for a double room in October 2015.
