Albergo del Golfo

I had fully paid for my stay through Booking.com, but train strikes in Rome meant I couldn't reach the hotel on time. I'd texted to let them know. To my dismay, they cancelled the booking and marked me as a no-show, even though I'd booked and paid. To their credit, when I called from the train, they got me a room within 10 minutes. But Booking.com still shows the reservation as cancelled. The only explanation I can think of is that they did it to fraudulently save on Booking.com fees.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the service was excellent. The rooms were clean, and I thought the location was great: walk out the door, take the second street left or right, and you're in the historic center. Breakfast could be better, but at €6 it's okay. Naples is a fantastic city, and its people are fantastic too.

A very good deal for the price. The room was spotless, and the hotel staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was included, with a small buffet, good coffee, and nice pastries.

The location is fantastic, with some of the best pizza restaurants within walking distance and the Univerista Metro stop just a minute away. The reception staff were relaxed and welcoming, and the room was cleaned perfectly each night. For what I paid, I wasn't expecting much, but the single room was surprisingly spacious, with a large TV, fridge, and dining table. I also liked the modern room controls that use a door card instead of a key. The walls are a little thin, though it was quiet enough at night to sleep well. My main complaint was the heat: I couldn't turn off the radiator or open a window, so it got a little too hot at night. Fantastic value and a great location.
