Casa Adelaide

Really close to the city center, and a great place to stay.

The location worked really well for our three-day stay, just a short distance from Via Toledo and the Spanish Quarter. The room felt a little dated and had a musty smell. They didn't clean the rooms every day or change the sheets. Breakfast was just a frozen croissant, so don't expect a buffet or anything more. I'd bring extra blankets in case the nights get cold. Still, it was a good experience.

The location was the only good part of this stay. The reviews on Booking.com gave us the wrong idea, and what we found didn't match the description. There was a moldy smell in the room, the air conditioner leaked beside power outlets, the toilet seat shifted around, and the owner greeted us in pajamas. They hadn't mentioned that daily cleaning, including towels and sheets, would cost €20. Ants were there from the moment we arrived, and without cleaning their numbers tripled. We messaged the owners to ask for breakfast at a different time the next day, but they didn't read it and called us rudely to say breakfast wouldn't be provided, despite our having paid. Once the misunderstanding was sorted out, we were given breakfast from the previous day the following morning. A very bad experience.

The room and house smelled bad, and the room itself was dirty, dusty, and moldy. The bathroom was old and dirty too. Nothing matched what was shown on booking, and the worn-out furniture and outlets wouldn't even let me charge my phone. The sheets were old and ugly, and nobody came to clean. Even the enclosed balcony was so bad I could hardly breathe. Disgusting stay, never again. Not recommended.
