The room had a kettle, tea, a fridge, and AC, with a small sitting room outside the bedrooms. Da Francesco sits right in Centro Historico, beside the Universita stop on Line 1. The area felt very safe, and the building, dating from 1858, is beautiful. For the port, turn right from the main entrance and walk down Depretis to Piazza Munipcio, about ten minutes, for hydro foil trips from Molo Beverello to Capri. Some day tours leave from Bar Pic Nic, just up from the port's two clock towers. With your back to the towers, the bar is on the right. The Airport Alibus stops in front of the port clocks. Turn left from the entrance for the health store Naturis. They sell water at the back of the shop by the exit, and close at 20.30. A little tip for sounding Neopolitan: drop the O at the end of Buongiorno. I can't wait to come back. A la prossima!!

The accommodation looks decent, which makes the host's attitude such a shame. We booked and gave him our flight times that same day, but only heard the day before landing that he wouldn't accommodate a late check-in, followed by “that's it.” He turned down Booking.com's requests to change the booking so we could at least stay the second night, or to allow free cancellation. He said he had a wedding to attend, which wasn't true. He also privately messaged us asking why we'd chosen his place if we were landing late, since there were so many properties in Naples. We shouldn't have assumed someone who regularly deals with guests would be accommodating, and should have read the 1-star reviews before paying. I've added screenshots of our messages since the host likes to lie on Google. :)

Francesco was a great host. His tips on places to see, staying safe, and getting around Naples made planning my days much easier and more enjoyable. The location is excellent too, near the metro and a short walk from the main Centrale station. I'd definitely recommend staying with him if you're visiting Naples.

The rooms were clean and tidy, and all the lights, faucets, and electronics worked. The area felt safe to walk around, and the place is extremely close to Universita station, making it easy to take the train elsewhere. Most sights were within about 15 minutes, and restaurants, pharmacies, and cafes were nearby. Francesco, the hostel owner, was kind and helpful. Without him, exploring the city would have felt difficult and less safe. It was our first and last stay at Napoli, and I'd highly recommend this place to tourists who want to get a deep understanding of the city.
