Hotel Colombo

The area made getting to the metro easy, but I didn’t feel secure there otherwise. Inside, the room was in awful condition. We found body hair on the floor, sheets, and towels from the first day, and the daily “cleaning” left things just as bad or worse. The sink and shower water often smelled bad, and the plastic door let every sound from downstairs through. Breakfast was barely more than croissants, so I stopped going after two days. The staff also made me uneasy, especially seeing the “manager” lying on the reception sofa. It’s cheap, but they should meet the basic standards of a three-star hotel. I wouldn’t suggest staying here if you want to enjoy your trip.

At first the location seemed a bit unsettling, but after exploring and coming back a few times, my daughter and I felt completely safe. Everything we needed was just a short walk away. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very clean and had everything you need for such a low price. We had a lovely stay and really didn’t want to leave!

The shower was the one real problem. It was so cramped that even I, though I’m not big, struggled to wash and do my hair. The room itself was small but very clean, and the staff were lovely and helpful. It was also well placed for public transport and sightseeing. Apart from that shower, it was a great stay.

The price is very affordable, and what made the stay for me was the staff, who were always cheerful and ready to help. It’s a budget place near Naples’ main station, which is a big plus. The rooms are simply furnished and the toilets are small; breakfast is basic, mostly sweet pastries, though the coffee is excellent. If you’re after luxury, this isn’t the hotel for you. For inexpensive accommodation with great employees, it works really well.
