Hostel 6 Small Rooms

The beds weren't bunks, which we liked, and the free breakfast included pastries. We also never had to compete for a bathroom. The staff were so welcoming and helped us plan an itinerary, and we could walk to everywhere we needed to go.

I miss Jenny, the original owner of 6 Small Rooms, and an old friend from way back. We eventually went our separate ways, and I don't know what happened to her, but she was a pioneer in Napoli. The hostel she created was nothing like what it is now. Napoli itself is still beautiful, but to me the hostel has lost its soul. Maybe waves of social media and entitlement have taken away its authenticity. It once had Italian charm and a sense of antiquity, and now that seems gone. I'm grateful I knew it before life revolved around phones and validation. Jenny, wherever you are, thank you for making something genuine that let people live in the moment. You built a beautiful hostel to be proud of. EDIT TO THEIR RESPONSE... That's cute. If time hasn't been kind to me, it's because I've been busy living honestly, which you might want to try sometime. I'll add “grumpy old man” to my résumé, just below “apparently living rent-free in your head.”

A big yes. The place felt relaxed, welcoming, and sociable. Every staff member I met was open and chatty. There are two kitchens, couches, and books, and the location is central. It doesn't feel commercial or greedy. What's not to love?!

The location is right in the center, and you can walk to the train station pretty easily. The staff were relaxed and really helpful, and the shared spaces made it easy to be around other people. My room and the toilets and showers were clean and comfortable, and the lockers were free. Naples can feel pretty run down, but the hostel fits that atmosphere while still being comfortable and affordable. I’d stay again.
