La Casetta

The location was the only upside: close to Piazza Plebiscito and Corso Cittadella. The place they gave us was a rundown old shack, and the bed was so awful that just looking at it put me off lying down. The shower drain didn’t work and water flooded the whole house. I had to mop it up with towels. When I told the landlady, she said the filter just needed to be removed and cleaned. I spent the two hours I was supposed to stay cleaning the shower filter. The landlady was arrogant and rude. The price isn’t fair for the property, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Both the property and the landlady are disgraced.

This was my fourth time staying here, and I’m still thrilled with the quality of the room and all its comforts. The owner is impeccably available 24 hours a day to answer questions about getting around Naples. The property is wonderfully placed in the heart of Naples, next to Piazza Pebliscito, Via Toledo, and Via Roma, with the seafront just steps away.

I was left without a place to stay at 8:30 PM on a Friday because of a problem, then found La Casetta while looking for somewhere nearby. I was lucky they had availability, and the owner was friendly and courteous. The studio is very central, easy to reach, and really cute and welcoming, with all the amenities. The price was excellent too. Highly recommended for a couple or someone passing through. We’ll definitely be back.

The only thing going for CASETTA is its location. I arrived in Naples at 1 pm, but didn’t get a room until 4 pm, and there was no hot water. The first room was already dirty, with boogers stuck to the wall above the bed. We switched rooms at 6 pm, and then the ordeal started. The outside doors were broken, some inside doors were missing, there was dirt all over under the bed, and chairs had been repaired with nails. I ended up buying extra sheets so I could at least sleep clean. The girl people call very kind wasn’t kind to us at all. We waited three hours for her because she had to take her dog out to pee, and she even asked me for 10 euros extra for cleaning that hadn’t been done. If you’re thinking of staying at CASETTA, get all your vaccines, because the risk of infection is high. Don’t park in the garage she recommends. They’ll charge you 50 euros for two days, and they don’t look after your vehicle.
