The staff's kindness and willingness to improve earned my appreciation. They apologized for my arrival mix-up and quickly arranged for someone to welcome us, even though I had entered the wrong time. Their replies to other guests also show care. Without that attentiveness, I probably would have rated the stay three stars. The B&B is small, new, well kept, and looks like its photos. Its location is excellent for exploring Naples on foot: Via Toledo, Spaccanapoli, the Spanish Quarter, and the university area are only minutes away, and it's handy for nightlife. For just one night, it worked well, especially after an evening out when the walk back was quick. There were a few practical problems. Sound carries easily between the rooms, which are close together. Coming in late can wake other guests because you have to open the main door, the iron gate, and your room door, then lock the room manually with a key. The toilet flush was weak and sometimes didn't work properly. There was shampoo and shower gel, but no hand soap. Wi-Fi was fine, though I couldn't get a phone or text signal in the room and had to go outside to call. I was told by email to bring cash for the tourist tax, so I looked for an ATM before arriving. Once there, I learned card payment was also possible. It wasn't a major issue, but that detail could be clarified. One other hitch was the wait of about half an hour outside when I arrived, caused by my mistake entering the time.
