Even though I'd seen negative reviews, my four-day stay left me very satisfied. For me it all worked out well, though I know these things are subjective. Before we arrived, Mrs. Adele called the day before and kindly shared the information we needed. The woman who had the room ready when we got there was lovely, helpful, and kind. The room was spotless and in a strategic spot on Via Toledo. Double-glazed windows kept it quiet, and there was air conditioning, a mini fridge, and bathroom linens with a bathrobe, everything we needed for a short stay. The door can be a little tricky, but once we understood how it worked, we had no trouble. Many thanks to the owner and her staff.

We booked three nights at "Melissa a Toledo" in Naples and ended up leaving the room by agreement. The host first said he'd refund us right away, but after he had us cancel the reservation, he said he couldn't return the money. We'd told them our arrival time in advance, yet the host wasn't there. His daughter let us in after we called. The place turned out to be just one room. Several things listed under "services you booked" weren't there: a private apartment in the building, bottled water, a dining table, outdoor furniture, a private entrance, a coffee machine, an outdoor dining area, a desk, chocolates or biscuits, and a city view. The entrance was shared with the rest of the apartment, despite the listing, and the view of the little street was mostly blocked by the host's washing. There were no windows in the room, only a small bathroom opening onto the property's internal stairs, and it didn't shut properly. The ceiling was barely 1.80 m high, especially by the bathroom, so it was hard for someone of average height to move around comfortably. A SCAM. If you look on booking.com, there are probably fake reviews like mine. I'm attaching a photo of the bathroom "door," which is more like a closet door, and the supposed "city view" with clothes hanging out.

We had a terrible experience. Less than four hours after our booking, the hotel canceled it, saying Booking hadn't paid them, and left us out on the street. I got in touch and asked for help, but they ignored us and said they couldn't do anything because there was no availability left. We had paid in full, this was a business arrangement, not a favor. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, and Booking should ban them for failing to honor their commitment to guests.

Noise was a constant problem, from people on the stairs and doors banging to horns and traffic right under the window. The room was small, with a very low bed and an uncomfortable mattress. A strong sewer smell came up from the bathroom drains, and its door had no lock. It slides open and remained at least 4-5 cm ajar.
