Francesco made check-in easy at Residence El Diez, and his friendly, helpful messages before and during our stay were much appreciated. Our room and bathroom were spacious compared with most European hotel rooms, and the price felt very reasonable. The location in Naples was ideal, near a good sandwich shop and the soccer player memorial. We had a small balcony on a car-free street, so it was quiet, at least by Naples standards. We'd happily stay again on another visit.

Rest was impossible because noise went on all night. The apartment is on a steep uphill street, making it hard to reach, in a part of the city that felt very bad and unsafe. The building is extremely old, and getting in means passing through four doors, two with PIN codes and two with keys. The shower leaked straight into the bedroom, which is completely unacceptable. The mattress was awful, probably the lowest quality possible, and so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep. This place was a huge letdown and honestly wouldn't be worth staying in for free.

We slept well and peacefully, even though the street outside was very busy. The room was nice, the manager friendly, and the location made it easy to explore the city. But after we mentioned the missing shower gel the next morning, it never showed up. The room was cleaned Saturday morning, but not Sunday, even though we checked out Monday.
