Royal Dante

The mattresses sagged badly, and the springs hurt my back through two miserable nights. The bed shifted whenever I moved. I paid €170 for a double room because it had a terrace, but the terrace was in total disrepair and impossible to use. The building is very old, with extremely high stone stairs and a tiny, old outdoor lift. Just terrible. The location itself is fine: there’s a metro nearby, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to places like Viale Toledo, a real Naples hotspot. Still, I wouldn’t recommend this B&B. Never again.

We stayed on January 23, 2026. The location was excellent, but the rooms weren’t comfortable. The air conditioner had dirty filters and didn’t seem to work properly, the blankets were old, and the bathroom was uncomfortable. There’s no heating outside the rooms.

We were able to leave our luggage in storage until late afternoon on departure day, and the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Vinny. Our clean room had air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a TV, and complimentary bottled water in the fridge; the bathroom was small but clean. The property is in a quiet part of a historic building, so we slept well despite being just steps from the main streets. It’s well placed for exploring Naples, and the price was more than fair for what was offered. A good base for seeing the city.

The price was incredibly low for what we got. Our room at the Royal Dante was spacious and clean, the location was excellent, and there was free coffee. The service was impeccable, especially from Vinni at the front desk, who was incredibly courteous, kind, and ready to accommodate our needs. I stayed with friends and we were completely satisfied. I’d definitely stay at the Royal Dante again on another trip to Naples, and would recommend this B&B to others.
