Sibilla Napoli

The room was gorgeous, colorful, and neatly arranged, with my own new bathroom and enough room for my luggage. There was a TV, air conditioning, and free water in the room and fridge. I slept with the window open instead and found it very quiet. Even the kitchen was spotless and had a homey feel. This was my first B&B in Italy, since I usually stay in hotels, and I was really pleased with my choice. Manuela, the BB manager, was lovely. She helped me find the place by speaking with my taxi driver from Sorrento, since my Italian is very bad and her English is great. I had an awesome stay at Sibilla and will choose it again when I return to Napoli. Mille Grazie Manuela!

For four days, nobody came to change the sheets or towels or empty the bathroom bin. That was the only bin in the room, so it filled quickly. We had booked because of the strong reviews for cleanliness, which makes me wonder about the standards of the people writing them. The room was spotless, apparently, but not during our stay. We'd agreed with Mrs. Manuela on an 11 a.m. check-in, and we arrived then only to be given a dirty room. She also confirmed a late checkout, telling us to leave by 7 p.m. Then at 2:50 p.m., we were told by the cleaning lady, not the owner, that we had to leave because new guests were coming at 4. We were polite and left anyway. The owner didn't even call or email; it's easy to make money off someone else's back. I'm only sorry we kept the cleaning lady waiting about 15 minutes. She isn't at fault for any of this, since the owner gives the orders. If this is meant to be a tourism business, it feels like a quick buck. Never again.

Manuela is a wonderful host, always willing to help, even when check-in times aren't convenient. I've booked this charming B&B at least a dozen times for friends and family coming to the city, usually for a weekend and sometimes for a week. It's in a fantastic spot by the port, next to the historic center, with good public transport. The rooms are well appointed, and my guests have often remarked on how clean they are and how promptly they were welcomed. For a holiday or work trip to Naples, contact Manuela and her staff. I couldn't have picked better.

The owner greeted us when we arrived and took care of both secure parking and our luggage. The property is in a great central spot in Naples, and our room was clean and practical. The bathroom had everything, though it wasn't perfectly clean, perhaps because it had been done in a hurry. The owner was attentive and helpful throughout. We recommend the place.
