Sweet Home San Mattia

It was peaceful and quiet in the room, even though the neighborhood was lively and full of local trattorias, small grocery shops, and other businesses. The room itself felt safe and comfortable without being sanitized, and looked gorgeous, with antique pieces alongside a modern bathroom and kitchen. I was traveling alone as a woman and felt this place had what I wanted: a local feel, a safe, thriving area, and an easy walk to the major sites. Maurizio was knowledgeable and helpful, and his partner Giovanni was friendly too. The rooms would also work well for families. A great way to experience Naples.

The large bed was especially comfortable, and breakfast was easy to order on the pad on the wall, with more than enough choices. The room had a clean, modern bathroom with a large shower, shampoo and gel, plus a good-sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker with pods, and decent WiFi. The air conditioning worked well too. We messaged to say we'd arrived, and our hosts met us at the property. Walking through the huge stone archway into the courtyard felt like traveling back in time. There's a small lift or two flights of wide stone stairs, both manageable. Maurizio and Giovanni explained everything clearly and made us feel very welcome throughout our three nights. They were happy to help with anything. The property is in the Spanish Quarter. Turn left outside and take the second or third right to explore the streets, with plenty of good-value places to eat in the evening. It's a real Napoli hit to the senses. For a more modern feel, just keep walking straight down the hill. We'd definitely stay at Residence San Mattia again. Excellent and authentic, thanks guys.

The neighborhood felt local, authentic, and safe, close to the water. The hosts were fantastic and spoke great English, and the rooms were phenomenal. Breakfast was amazing and delicious. A perfect first choice for a great Naples experience.

The room had a lovely character, especially the amazing ceiling painting. Our hosts were warm and helpful, and the location was close to everything while still being peaceful. A great choice for staying in Napels!
