Timeless

I couldn’t rest at night because of the noise, and the room itself was dirty. A curtain had fallen down, which made it seem poorly maintained. The entrance to the complex was badly lit and felt quite scary after dark. In the morning I noticed rodents in the yard, which left me with serious doubts about the hygiene. A disappointing stay, and I can’t recommend the place.

After being unhappy with my previous stays, I’d decided not to come back to Naples. Three days at this apartment hotel, Timeless, changed my mind. The inside is luxurious and stylish, and the price is reasonable, about what an average three-star hotel in Naples costs. The neighborhood around it isn’t especially pristine, though. The view from the 16th floor is fantastic, facing Naples Central Station and looking toward the Pompeii district and Mount Vesuvio. The top floor’s high ceilings make it feel more like the 25th floor of a typical apartment, and even beat the corner-room views I’ve had at five-star hotels. The room is spacious, with two large floor-to-ceiling windows that open fully, cool air-conditioning, and a well-equipped kitchen. Three passwords came by email, so check your inbox before entering. One cute little quirk: the elevator takes a 10-cent coin each ride. For a longer visit to Naples, I doubt I’d find a better place.

The apartment on the 16th floor was new and clean, and they’d even left drinks in the fridge. It’s close to the central bus station and not too far from the old town. You can spot the building from far away, though it doesn’t look very inviting from outside.

The people were super friendly and helpful, and the location was good. We had a great stay.
