La Locanda del Conte Mameli

Nadia at the front desk was so kind and helpful, and arranged a taxi to the airport that arrived on time. The room was spotless, the bathroom looked beautiful, and the gummy snacks up front were a nice touch. We absolutely loved staying at La Locanda del Conte Mameli. Five-star experience, highly recommend!

The room itself was quite nice, so that gets two stars. The mattress and bed linen get zero. They felt more like something from last millennium than what I’d expect at a highway motel. I know it takes some investment, but charging over a hundred in the off-season for this is shameful.

After the bathroom door jammed shut, thankfully with nobody inside, we went to reception. The bathroom was noisy from the air conditioning and smelled, so we’d closed the door. On the third time opening and closing it, it got stuck. The manager had left, and the receptionist who came didn’t know what to do. She called the manager, but he didn’t seem to pay attention. She offered us a choice: move to a worse room, or stay put and use the bathroom in another room one floor down. We had already arrived a day late because of a Lufthansa’s problem, and had been given a different room from the one we first booked. The next morning the manager came, broke the door, said we could take a bath or do whatever in the other room’s bathroom, then disappeared. I’ll leave the rest to you.

Having the main restaurant and Olbia’s shopping area so close was a real plus, and the rooms were comfortable. La Laconda was a wonderful surprise, made even better by Alex, the very friendly and accommodating Concierge. We enjoyed our stay and recommend the location for its rooms and great staff.
