The reception staff were very unfriendly and couldn’t arrange transportation to a restaurant. They talked about clients in Italian, and went into the room even though the “no disturb” sign was up. Look elsewhere if you want a nice vacation.

My family really enjoyed the pool, and the staff and service were pleasant. But this felt far from a four star hotel and quite different from what we’d expected. I don’t understand the high ratings or why so many people recommend it. There weren’t many power outlets, and some didn’t work. The blackout curtain covered only half the window, so we couldn’t darken the room properly. The glasses were plastic, and the old fixtures made shower and faucet water spray in odd directions. Breakfast was included, but the menu never changed. Honestly, I’d give it 2.5 stars at most.

The reception team were kind and helpful, and the restaurant waiters were pleasantly professional, easy to talk to, and had a good sense of humour. The food there was really good, with prices that compared well to the other restaurants we tried, which were also very good and not overpriced. Breakfast was nice and had everything you’d expect. We had a suite with two beds on the upper level of the room and a separate bathroom with a shower, a perfect setup for travelling with our two teenage daughters. The hotel is in a great location, with very nice views from the pool and from the bar and breakfast area. We had a wonderful week as a family. There was a foul smell from the room’s AC for the first few days, but it went away after that.

The hard beds and unheated pool were a letdown, and a car felt almost essential. Breakfast had lots of choices, but only one coffee machine, so there was a big queue each morning. I also didn’t like having to ask staff to replenish missing items, even when 15-30 minutes of breakfast were left. It should have been done before then, and the response could feel passive aggressive. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. There’s room for improvement, though, and I don’t think we’ll stay again.
