The room was spacious, with high ceilings, but the decor was strange and the lighting stayed gloomy even with every light on. The bathroom had an open shower, no toilet paper holder, and broken flush buttons. I eventually worked out that the small metal button near the bidet worked. There were odd textured foam tiles and clashing wall designs, too. The worst part was the hot water. After my wife showered, it ran out while my son was still in the shower, so he had to finish in freezing water. The heater and tank in the bathroom made a loud rumbling noise that you could hear from the queen bed. We waited, but the hot water didn't come back, and after 8:30 pm nobody could help. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and eventually stopped working. My sons slept badly on the sofa bed because the mattresses were so thin they could feel the springs. The queen bed wasn't too bad, but it wasn't comfortable either. The receptionist was kind and kept in touch with us on WhatsApp until we arrived. The place is behind the Fiorista Adda, towards the lake, rather than where Google Maps shows it. Still, I was very disappointed. I booked a non-refundable family stay through Expedia after believing the reviews calling it a “hidden gem” and “heaven on earth.” Looking back, some five-star reviews have unrelated photos or come from people who only give five stars, and I suspect paid review farms are boosting the rating. I wish I'd paid more for somewhere better.

Finding dinner can be tricky if you're there on a Monday or Tuesday, when many village restaurants are closed. We found options in the next village, about five minutes away by car, and that worked out perfectly. BlueLake Inn was a great fit for us since my husband uses a wheelchair, and suitable places can be hard to find. They gave us a spacious, barrier-free room at the regular price. We arranged things with the staff on WhatsApp beforehand, and although the receptionist didn't speak English, we were able to communicate just fine. Everything was clean, the air conditioning worked well, parking was free, and the area was very quiet with a lovely lake view. The toilet and shower were wheelchair friendly, though there wasn't a proper shower stool, just a small, wobbly one. It was usable, but less stable than we'd have liked.

The view was lovely and the staff were friendly. Our bathroom was a little untidy and could use some repairs, but that wasn't a big deal. We couldn't get regular breakfast, I think because of covid, but the staff gave us a complimentary breakfast basket that was great for the kids. We'd definitely stay again.

The room had plenty of space and was really clean and nice. It also came with free Wi-Fi and a big TV. With temperatures above 30 degrees outside, having air conditioning in the room was a real plus. The staff spoke very good English, which was a relief after another hotel we'd called couldn't understand when we asked about a room and air conditioning. For the price, this is a GREAT choice!

The welcome was warm and the location is very good, but the room was dirty and noisy. We could even hear the TV in the next room. I wouldn't choose it, even just for one night.
