Terra Di Mare

In Vignacastrisi, I stayed at Terra di Mare to work and sleep, and Antonio and his family welcomed me wonderfully into their guest apartment. They even gave me an aloe leaf to soothe my sore foot. Recommended! I'm the creator of the Smart Walking project, and for four years I've been walking around Italy as a digital nomad, splitting my time between walking and remote work. In 2025 I'm an ambassador for the Via Francigena, walking the whole route through Italy from the Great St. Bernard Pass to Santa Maria di Leuca.

Traveling on my own, I had a day when I wasn’t feeling well. When Antonio and his wife saw that everything was still closed in the afternoon and I wasn’t picking up the phone, they came to check on me. They were so discreet and kind about it, and I really appreciated that. Their thoughtfulness made me feel at home, and I’ll definitely come back. The apartment was spotless, which is unfortunately rare in my experience as someone who travels a lot. It also had a fully equipped kitchen and a washing machine. The shared spaces were beautiful and well kept, especially the big furnished garden, where you can eat or relax in a hammock or on the sofas. Thanks for everything!

The owners’ kindness and knowledge of the area are what make this place special. They make you feel like old friends and are happy to suggest things to do nearby. Vignacastrisi is close to lovely Castro and some truly unique stretches of coastline. The apartments are also excellent, with everything you might need and the convenience of private parking. We’d definitely come back.

We had a wonderful two weeks in an apartment at Terra di Mare. Antonio was welcoming and helpful, and the place had everything we needed. The garden was lovely too, with a barbecue.
