We had lovely mornings here. The breakfast was generous, with fresh fruit, cheeses, cured meats, pastries, yogurt and more. The women serving remembered our coffee choices and dietary restrictions, and were attentive and kind. At the front desk, the staff were a big help throughout the stay, including arranging spa treatments with Luigi, a skilled practitioner trained in Ayurveda. They also gave us a booklet of their own suggestions for the area when we checked in, which came in handy even though we’d planned ahead. Masseria Montelauro made a great base for exploring around Otranto. The gardens and grounds were carefully looked after, with shady spots among the olive trees in the courtyard and by the pool. Our comfortable, well-equipped room had linen bedding, a spacious bathroom and AC.

Every detail at Masseria Montelauro seemed carefully looked after, and the staff were warm, welcoming and attentive. The restaurant served very tasty, well-prepared food too. This place deserves a "Golden Buzzer". Five stars don’t feel like enough. I’d happily stay again and really recommend it.

If you can, spend a few days here. The decoration is beautiful, the plants are so well cared for, and the restaurant food is amazing. A Masseria is perfect, with a magical atmosphere that made my days there wonderful. It’s a special place, and everything feels impeccable.

Breakfast was a great spread: pastries, fresh cakes, yogurt, fruit, nuts, seeds, bread, cheeses and a couple of cured meats. The Americano coffee was absolutely delicious. They also set out complimentary nibbles in the early evening, a nice touch. We had dinner there one night and the pastas were excellent. It’s a lovely spot to relax, with the option of heading into a nice town. Otranto is five minutes by car, or a €15 taxi. Walking takes 40 minutes on a fairly busy road, or 50 by a quieter route. The pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds, and the owners and staff were all really friendly. Our standard room was small but well kept, with a strong shower. It worked fine for what we needed, though the AC didn’t get as cold as it should.

The owners really know what they’re doing, and every single person on their team was delightful. Nothing we asked seemed like too much trouble. The hotel is stunning, and the restaurant outstanding. They looked after me, my wife and our 4-month-old son brilliantly. We found a real gem and would absolutely come back.
