I’d read some reviews that made me nervous, but it was too late to cancel, so I went ahead and was pleasantly surprised. The room and the whole place were great, and everything was clean. The host sent the check-in details early, and getting in was easy. Sound travels easily through the walls. The area didn’t feel very safe to me, though I didn’t run into any problems.

I had a very good stay and would happily come back. The owner is kind and helpful. These are decent, affordable rooms with shared bathrooms, so don’t expect hotel facilities like a reception, cleaning staff, or private bathrooms. If common areas like the kitchen, terrace, or bathroom are messy, that’s down to inconsiderate guests in the other rooms, not the host. And if you like ranting in reviews, try traveling more, preferably beyond Europe.

The room was clean, even though the outside of the building looked quite old and unsettling. The bathroom and kitchen are shared. I stayed just one night because it was inexpensive (€43) and only a ten-minute walk from the station. After booking through Booking, the owner sent instructions for both check-in and check-out. There’s also a €2.50 tourist tax to leave in the room before checking out.

The photos on the website gave me a completely different impression. I felt like I was in the Favelas. No comment. They need to clean better.
