B&B Palermo Sole & Cultura

The room itself was good, and Myriam and Francesco were both genuinely kind. They took great care of us and made sure we had what we needed, and we enjoyed the breakfast. The difficult part was the noise around us, especially the neighbors next door with their loud TV. This is a hard one to review.

We had no trouble parking nearby, and for the price this is a more than decent choice. The owner was warm and friendly, and the breakfast had a reasonable mix of sweet and savory foods at a set serving time. Our party of four had a roomy bedroom and a nice bathroom. Check-in was self-service, using the instructions provided. The B&B is on the third floor, just outside the historic center and close to the train station. The street isn't especially attractive, though the inside is pleasant.

The B&B itself is lovely, comfortable, and centrally located, but I can't recommend it after how this cancellation was handled. I booked one night through Booking, then broke my foot in a bad accident about 20 days before leaving and had to cancel my whole vacation. More than three weeks before the booking, I contacted the property, explained I had to cancel with a heavy heart, and asked for a refund. The owner told me to request it through Booking.com and said there would be no problem, but nothing was refunded. I messaged her and called back without getting through. Booking.com customer service eventually reached her, and she said she would not refund me. She offered at most a date change before the end of the year, while also telling them she knew I couldn't use it. The lack of communication and professionalism was disappointing, especially after the other places involved in this incident treated me well.

The rooms were clean, and they brought a crib for my baby without any fuss. Breakfast was delicious, and after we mentioned that one of my daughters is allergic to chocolate, they made sure to provide croissants without chocolate. The price was incredible, too. The train station is only two minutes away, and you can reach either the historic center or the beach in about ten minutes.
