Handy little place near the Central train station.

We chose it because the location was convenient, and at least there weren't mice running around. Apart from that, it was a rough stay. We waited outside for an hour for the owner, despite agreeing on a check-in time, then walked into a musty place that was unbearably hot. The shower mat was just a rag and hadn't been changed for a week, although four of us used it. The sheets hadn't been changed either. Someone came by twice to check the water meter in the bathroom. We tried to use the stove, but the smell of gas made us give up.

We were left waiting an hour for the owner to let us in so we could put down our bags and get some sleep. He said he was "outside Palermo".
