Palazzo Balsamo

Our Airbnb fell through, so we arrived here late at night and were welcomed in. We stayed three nights. Everything feels brand new, elegant, and super clean. I’m sensitive to mold and didn’t find any. I also have a lot of food allergies, and breakfast had some nice options for me. Shops and restaurants are very close, and I loved the balcony.

The staff are clearly trying hard to do a great job, and the hotel had only opened about 8 weeks ago, so I’m still giving it 5/5 stars. The service was fantastic, the hotel is in a great location, and the quiet room had modern AC, a comfy bed, and a courtyard view towards the hills with plenty of morning light. The hotel opened in October 2025 and feels new, with quiet, minimalistic rooms. All the rooms are on the second floor. But breakfast was honestly upsetting for what we paid. The coffee, pre-packaged cured meats, cheap overly sweet granola described as “dried fruits muesli,” bad-tasting milk, soggy cannoli, and low-quality eggs were all disappointing. It’s unacceptable at nearly 200€ per night, especially when Palermo has fantastic breakfasts for 10-15€ per person. Best of luck, but the breakfast needs work.

I don’t usually review hotels unless they’re horrible, but this one was very good. In smaller cities I often end up at independent hotels, since big luxury chains like hyatt, hilton and Marriott don’t operate in small towns. I’ve often found something lacking, like an uncomfortable bed or a cramped shower. Here, everything was comfortable, and the design was beautiful throughout. It costs more than other similar small hotels nearby, but you won’t regret staying here. Highly recommend.

The staff were absolutely faultless. Thank you so much, you were amazing. The hotel’s in a perfect spot, it’s delightful inside, and the rooms are modern, comfortable, and beautifully kept. We had great breakfasts and a stunning view from our balcony. After six weeks travelling around Italy, this was one of the very best stays. Bravo, guys, and thanks again. Highly recommended!
