Residence Hotel Gloria

The online photos and description bore no resemblance to what we found. It was filthy and smelled strongly of sewage, bleach, and chemicals. There were dirty towels in the cupboards, stains on the walls with liquid running down them, and mold in the shower and sinks. I was told it had just been cleaned, but it was the dirtiest place I've ever seen. We stayed less than 20 minutes, yet the owner kept charging us, ignored my messages, and wrote nasty emails. Lucia, the woman at the front desk, doesn't speak English.

We booked three weeks here because we wanted the security and help you'd expect from a hotel, like advice on getting around or arranging a taxi. It turned out to be a set of bedsits with a shared kitchen, and there was no reception. If something went wrong, the hotel number was answered from an address across town, and the staff didn't speak English as advertised. A couple came by with the keys and did the daily cleaning, but if you were in your room during the hour or two they were there, it was left uncleaned. Breakfast wasn't provided as advertised either. In a room beside the shared kitchen, there were a couple of cakes left in the sun for days and a kettle. Despite the name, this isn't a hotel. I'd avoid it.

The staff are a complete joke, and the place is so disgusting it could make you vomit. It reeks of sewage. I'd give it zero stars if I could.

A decent spot for a few nights.
